Getting Started - easy steps to get started with Hobbyswap.org

Step 1. Sign up.

Step 2. Confirm Your Email.

Check your email and use the link that was emailed to you to validate your email address. If you don't get your email, please check your spam mailbox, and add info@hobbyswap.org to your trusted emails. You can also try validating again.

Step 4. Login

You've created your account and can now login to get started with hobbyswap.org

Step 5. Edit Your Blurb

Create a blurb to describe yourself. Your blurb tells others people a little about yourself. You can put as much or as little information as you like. When you're done click "Go To Next Step"

Step 6. Upload a Photo

You can upload a jpeg or a gif image onto hobbyswap.org, that people will see when they view you. When you're done click "Go To Next Step"

Step 7. Join Networks

Now you can add networks. Networks let you connect with other members of hobbyswap.org. You can only connect to people in your networks. When you're done click "Start Adding Hobbies"

Step 8. Adding Hobbies

Now you can add hobbies. Hobbies are things that you want to learn, teach, or find activity partners for. Hobbies can be anything: a language, art form, music, craft, subject, or any other topic or activity.


Click on "add" to add hobbies to learn, teach or find activity partners for.

On the next screen you can add the hobby by simply typing the hobbies name in. Some suggested hobbies will come up. Please pick simple and common names for your hobbies, because we can only connect you with people that share hobbies with the same spelling as you. An example of a bad hobby name would be "Tennis Beginner". A Good name would be "Tennis". You can tell people if you are a beginner in the description. A bad name would be "French / Spanish". A better way to add multiple hobbies is to add "French" then add "Spanish".

Step 8. Start Finding Hobby Swaps

Once you have added things you want to learn and teach, you can start connecting to people in your network. From your main account page, you can click on Teachers, Activity Partners, Learners, or Swaps to find people in your network that share your hobbies. You can also edit your hobbies, networks, and other account settings.
